Use Catalogs to decide which catalogs offer accounts, Square Rewards, and gift cards. The customer experience stays inside the tenant website; the underlying balance, enrollment, and redemption remain with Square when the feature is Square-backed.
Repeat customers can check out as guests, save an order to an account, or sign in from the compact account icon in the tenant header.
Quick facts
Start here
- “Save this order to an account” creates the account only after the customer supplies the required password and completes checkout.
- Logged-in customers do not see a duplicate account prompt; Farin reuses their saved contact and fulfillment details where appropriate.
- Square Rewards points are looked up by phone and are awarded or redeemed only after a successful checkout.
- Square gift-card balance and redemption require an active Square connection; Farin does not maintain a parallel gift-card ledger.
Choose where accounts help
- Enable account creation on catalogs with repeat ordering, such as everyday menus or catering.
- Leave guest checkout available so a first-time customer never has to create a password before buying.
- Use the account area for saved contact details, order history, and future checkout convenience—not as a replacement for a customer service workflow.
Keep Square rewards and gift cards authoritative
- 1 The compact account icon lets repeat customers sign in or review saved orders without competing with Order.
- 2 Order remains the primary action in the tenant header.
Connect Square first
Open Square connection and finish authorization before enabling Square-owned features.
If a catalog shows Link Square, use it to open the same connection flow without leaving catalog settings.
Let customers check their balance at checkout
Ask for the mobile number associated with Square. Show the available reward or gift-card balance only after the lookup succeeds.
Apply a selected reward or gift card to the checkout total, then wait for the payment and order to succeed before recording redemption.
Use the account link as a quiet retention loop
- Keep the account icon small and neutral in the header so it does not compete with the primary order action.
- After a successful order, invite the customer to review the receipt, save details, or reorder from their account.
- If an account lookup fails, keep guest checkout available and explain the next step without blocking the purchase.
