🧭 Product status

Honest about where
we're at.

Farin is a working product built from years of running a real bakery. This page explains what is available today, where workflows are intentionally opinionated, and what operator feedback helps us improve next.

⚠️
A clear product scope

Every operation is different. If a workflow needs a different rule, report it in the Feedback Hub inside the app. Screenshots and steps to reproduce help us improve the shared workflow without making the everyday path harder for everyone else.

🧩 Scope notes

Scope notes by module

These workflows are available with clear operating boundaries. Choose the setup that matches the way your team actually works, then tell us where the product should become more flexible.

⚙️

Production Planning

Production planning is available for bakery workflows that use the current batch, label, and QR-code model. Teams with a different production model can still use recipes, inventory, and the API while they shape the right operating pattern.

Need a different setup? Tell us how you batch, label, and track items so we can help you choose the cleanest setup.
📦

Inventory Management

Inventory workflows support recipe depletion, movement, purchasing, and location-aware counts. Because every operation measures stock differently—by weight, unit, batch, or location—set the units and depletion rules that match the way your team works.

Need a different setup? Share your counting model if you want help choosing the right inventory rules.
💡
Feature requests are welcomed, not just tolerated.

The platform was built in the context of one bakery. Things like timeclocks not tracking breaks aren't oversights — they're gaps we haven't needed ourselves yet. If you need it, it's likely an easy add. Just ask.

📤 Data

Import & Export

Use the built-in connectors and documented APIs to move information into and out of the workflows that matter most.

Farin includes dedicated imports for common integrations, tenant website imports, and documented API access. For a specialized migration, start with a small sample so the mapping can be reviewed before the full history is moved.

Use the matching connector when one exists. For custom workflows, the documented API and structured exports provide a stable way to move data without giving another system broad access:

Getting data in

Email us an example of data you need to bulk-load — recipes from Word docs, spreadsheets, your current system export. We'll help map and import it.

💵

Payroll

Partial
  • Arizona only right now. Most states are straightforward to add — post in the Feedback Hub with the state (and city if it has a local income tax) and we'll prioritize it.

  • Tax filing is semi-manual. The system calculates all withholdings automatically and generates quarterly and annual forms ready to print, sign, and mail. You are responsible for submitting them. We provide full reports and instructions.

  • Direct deposit via Mercury Bank only. Mercury offers a full API, free for up to 100 payments/month. Alternatively, pay via check, Zelle, or ACH through your own bank. Mercury

🧾

Accounting

Partial
  • Automatic transaction imports: Square and Stripe only. These are the two payment processors we use at the bakery. If you use a different processor, email or post in the Feedback Hub with the provider name and we will look at adding an integration.

Get Involved

Your context shapes what gets built next.

The more we hear from operators with different setups, the faster we can generalize the platform. The Feedback Hub is the best place for bugs, feature requests, and workflow questions.
