The manager side stays in Timeclocks, and the replacement device uses Timeclock Setup.

Quick facts

Start here

  • Shared devices should be replaced quickly so staff clock flow is not interrupted.
  • Create a fresh setup code for the replacement device.
  • Retire or revoke the old device record when it is no longer trusted.

Step 1: Review the device list and create the replacement code

Open Timeclocks, check the current device list, and generate a new setup code for the replacement tablet.

The timeclock admin page is where you manage the current devices and generate a fresh code for a replacement tablet.

Step 2: Register the new tablet and retire the old one

  • Use Timeclock Setup on the replacement tablet and register it with the new code.
  • Then disable, revoke, or rename the old device record so staff are not guessing which device is live.
Register the replacement device with the new code, then retire the old device record so the active tablet is obvious to staff.
