Use this article after the device has already been registered and left on the shared Timeclock screen.
The daily routine is simple: find your name, tap your card, and confirm the punch action in the modal.
Quick facts
Start here
- Staff cards show whether you are currently clocked in or out.
- If you are already clocked in, your card shows how long the current shift has been open.
- Some locations require a photo before a punch can be submitted.
- If the device goes offline, punches can queue and sync later when the connection returns.
Step 1: Find your name on the shared device
Look for your staff card
Open or return to Timeclock.
Tap your own card only. If you are clocked in already, your card shows the running shift time.
- 1 Use the help button if the team needs install or troubleshooting tips.
- 2 Staff tap their own card here to start a clock in or clock out.
Choose the right punch action
After you tap your card, the modal shows whether you are clocking in or clocking out.
If the location requires a photo, take the photo first and then submit the punch.
Step 2: Finish the punch cleanly
- Wait for the success message before handing the device to the next person.
- If the camera fails, allow camera access and restart the camera from the punch modal.
- If you tapped the wrong person, close the modal and choose the correct card before submitting anything.
What shift leads should check
- Keep the device awake, charged, and left on Timeclock.
- If the header shows Offline or Queued punches, leave the device connected so it can sync.
- If the wrong location or staff list appears, ask a manager to review the device in Timeclock Devices.
If the screen looks stale or wrong
