Use this article after the device is already registered and left on KDS.
The core routine is simple: read the next card, tap line items as they are prepared, then clear the ticket when the whole order is done.
Quick facts
Start here
- Card header colors change from normal to warning to error based on the minutes set for that screen.
- Tap a line item to mark it prepared. Completed items dim and move lower in the card.
- Tap the card header to clear a finished order.
- Scheduled orders stay in the drawer until they reach the auto-promote window or someone starts them early.
Step 1: Read the live queue
Use the main queue as the station worklist
Open or return to KDS.
Each card shows the fulfillment badge, order total, how long the ticket has been in the queue, and the items that still need work.
Step 2: Mark work as you finish it
- Tap a line item when that item is prepared. Tap it again if it was marked by mistake.
- Wait to clear the order until the whole ticket is done for that station.
- Tap the card header to clear a finished order and remove it from the live queue.
- Use Recall in the speed panel if someone clears a ticket too early and needs to bring it back.
Step 3: Watch scheduled orders and sound
Scheduled orders appear in the drawer at the bottom of KDS instead of the main queue until they are close enough to start.
Open the Scheduled drawer to review what is coming, or tap Start to promote an order early.
- The drawer label shows how many scheduled orders are waiting.
- The screen also shows the auto-move window so you know when orders jump into the main queue on their own.
- If you see an Enable Sound button, tap it once on that device so new-order chimes can play.

Keep the screen healthy
Leave the device awake, charged, and open on KDS instead of switching tabs.
If cards stop moving or a fresh order is missing, refresh the page first. If the issue stays, ask a manager to test with Enqueue Test Order from Kitchen Display Screens.
