Use the app search bar when you already know what you want and just need to get there faster.

Search is often quicker than menu-clicking for experienced users.

Quick facts

Start here

  • Search is best when you know the page, customer, or concept you want.
  • It saves the most time for frequent users who move across modules all day.
  • Clear names across recipes, customers, and internal pages make search work better.

Step 1: Search with the real name people use

  • Use the common label your team already recognizes.
  • If search feels weak, review whether your internal names are too vague.
The main app shell keeps search close so frequent users can jump to the next record or page without drilling through menus.
  1. 1 Open the command palette here when you already know the page or record you want.
  2. 2 Pinned and recent links are still better for a small set of pages you open constantly.

Step 2: Use search as a jump tool, not a browsing tool

  • Search when speed matters and you know the target.
  • Use the menu when you are still exploring or learning where a feature lives.
