Plan and publish social content

Create a Facebook or Instagram post, review its image and caption, then save a draft, schedule it, or publish it.

6 min read Updated Owners and managers planning social media content

Use Socials to prepare and publish Facebook or Instagram feed posts and stories. This calendar is for social publishing; to import profile content into your public site, follow Build a branded business website with AI.

Connect the social account first, then review each generated caption and image before you schedule or publish it.

Quick facts

Start here

  • The composer supports Facebook and Instagram. A platform must be connected before it can be selected for a post.
  • Choose Feed or Story before creating media. Stories use a portrait 9:16 layout; feed previews use 4:5.
  • Scheduled times follow the company time zone configured for Socials.
  • An empty schedule saves a draft, a future date and time schedules the post, and Publish Now sends it immediately.

Connect the account and start a post

Connect Facebook or Instagram

Open Socials and use the Platform Connections panel to connect the Facebook or Instagram account you manage. Return to the composer after the connection is active.

Only connect accounts your business manages and has approved for publishing.

Choose the post format and goal

Select Create Content, then choose Feed or Story and a content goal such as promoting an offer, highlighting an item, or sharing a business moment.

Tell the assistant what the post should communicate, or upload a source image to refine. Choose the connected platforms and review the preview for the selected format.

Review, save, schedule, or publish

Use Calendar, List, and Upcoming to review scheduled posts, drafts, and publishing history.

Edit the caption and media

Read the full caption, check names, offer dates, prices, and links, and inspect every image before it leaves the business. Replace or remove any generated detail that is inaccurate.

For a Story, confirm the portrait crop and any text on the image; the composer does not use the normal feed caption field for Story posts.

Choose when the post goes out

Leave the schedule blank and choose Save Draft to keep working later. Set a date and time to schedule the post, or choose Publish Now when it is ready to go live.

Use the Calendar, Upcoming, or List view to review scheduled posts and drafts. Reopen an item to edit it, or publish a draft when the timing changes.

Keep publishing separate from profile and website updates

Use Website Builder for public site pages and imported profile material. Use Google Business Profiles for Google listing details and reviews. Socials manages content published to connected Facebook and Instagram accounts.
